The game of 7 Card Stud is played by anywhere from 2 to 8 players and is a very popular poker game. In the past few years it has gained popularity because of its classic Poker feel and easy rules.
As its name suggests, each player gets 7 cards, some are dealt face up and some dealt face down. First, each player is dealt two hole cards or face down cards and two cards dealt face up. Once those cards are dealt the betting round begins with the person who is holding the best cards showing. Betting then goes clockwise around the table with players calling, raising or folding.
After that round of betting is finished, another face up card is dealt to each remaining player. Once again this round of betting begins with the player holding the best hands.
Next comes 6th street, where a 6th card is dealt face up to all players and betting begins, same as in previous rounds.
Finally, a 7th card is dealt, generally as a hole card but sometimes as an open card. The last round of betting starts and continues just as before, clockwise around the table.
Once that betting round finishes, players begin the showdown, where the best hand wins the pot.
