PartyPoker.com is based in Gibraltar and was founded in 2001. As the most advertised and recognized poker site ever to exist, Party Poker has experienced lots of ups and downs over the years. Pre US Legislation, Party Poker.com was the largest poker room in the world (now Pokerstars). Depsite a significant players loss after it stopped accepting US players, Party has still done a great job at retaining a large player base with approx. 9,000 ring game players and close to 60,000 tournament players during peak periods.

The PartyPoker software is a custom designed platform with an emphasis on speed and the site is known to have some of the fastest games around. The room features all of the usual things you would expect from a top level poker room including multi-tabling, tournament and cash game filters, easy navigation and reliability. One major benefit to the software is that you can access all of your player data including deposits/withdrawals, comp points, history, etc all from within the gaming client with the click of a button. This addition to their software is helpful for players who like to keep tabs on their game and track themselves.

Games offered in both real money and play money include NL Texas Holdem, Limit Texas Holdem, Omaha, Omaha Hi Lo, 7 Card Stud, 7 Card Stud Hi Lo with limits ranging from $0.02/$0.04 up to $250/$500 in the high stakes limit games (NL stakes up to $25/$50).

Due to the heavy marketing efforts of Party Poker, the site is populated with lots of new and terrible players. Because of this, competition at the room is quite easy in comparison with other poker sites and a smart player can do well at the tables. The fish on Party do not tend to stick to a certain limit and we personally have witnessed awful play up to the $10/$20 No Limit level, so your best bet is to watch some tables and decide which one looks most profitable. In general, you will find the most unskilled opponents in the games under the $5/$10 limit.

In terms of player loyalty, this is something that Party has really gone downhill on since they stopped accepting US players. They used to have the absolute best player marketing and incentive program out there but have let it slip and really need to put more emphasis into this area. The current program consists of points earned by playing at the tables and in the tournaments which can be exchange for cash or tournament entries.

Our consensus on PartyPoker.com is that it is a good room for players who are not concerned with loyalty bonuses and enjoy a fast paced atmosphere. If you want an excellent rewards program, this isn't the room for you.
