The poker variant of Omaha Hi/Lo is played quite similarly to Omaha Poker, in that all players are dealt four cards, the hole cards, face down. The community cards are dealt just like regular Omaha and betting rounds take place just the same as well.
The difference with Omaha Hi/Lo Poker is that instead of having just one winning hand, there may be two winning hands. As the name suggests, a Hi hand and a Lo hand. When trying to obtain the best low hand, a player must hold two cards under 8 and the board must have three cards under 8, and not paired with the players cards. The best possible low hand is an ace to five straight.
If there are not three community cards that are under eight, then there is no possibility of a low winning hand.
